Alfa Romeo’s boss Santo Ficili told French car magazine L’Argus the next-generation Giulia will feature “a new design with a new type of bodywork.” Later Ficili confirmed that the next-generation Stelvio crossover and Giulia sedan will ride on the same Stellantis STLA Large platform.

The style, popularized by the BMW X6 and a host of Mercedes-Benz SUV Coupe and Audi Sportback models, is less stodgy than the usual SUV, and that suits the brand's character well.
