Texas' season ended with a loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the semifinals of the College Football Playoff. Following the season, Texas quarterback Arch Manning spoke with ESPN's Marty Smith, revealing his thoughts on the current state of the Longhorns.

Not long after Ohio State beat Texas in the Cotton Bowl to end the 2024 season for the Longhorns, Texas QB Arch Manning was already thinking ahead to 2025. Manning played mostly in a reserve role for Texas the past two seasons.

Manning, the highly touted quarterback from the famed Manning family, said Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian played a key role in his decision. “Coach Sark just told me to be myself and be a leader and work hard, and it’ll all work out,” Manning said.
