Nine Salisbury University students have been sentenced in connection to an off-campus hate crime attack in October 2024.

According to the Maryland Judiciary, 10 of the 15 defendants, all expelled members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, entered guilty pleas to second-degree assault or false imprisonment, conceding their part in luring a gay man to an off-campus apartment before ambushing him as a group.
