Walmart is closing its regional office in Charlotte with 267 layoffs as the retail giant consolidates its corporate offices nationally. Walmart has asked some of its office-based workers to relocate to its headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, and Sunnyvale, California, the retailer said in a memo emailed to The Charlotte Observer late Tuesday.

CHARLOTTE — Honeywell International Inc. is following through with a major shake-up that calls for the separation of its businesses into three publicly traded companies.

The retailer is eliminating several jobs and closing its Charlotte office as it relocates employees to its main hub in Arkansas.

Walmart Inc.'s (NYSE: WMT) move to close its corporate office in Charlotte this year will impact more than 250 employees. The retail giant said in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification sent to state and local officials that there are 267 employees located in or reporting to its office at 2118 Water Ridge Parkway,
