A 13-year-old boy suspected of committing a series of home invasions targeting young women in Pontiac and Detroit is in custody, Oakland County officials said.

The Oakland County Sheriff's office announced the arrest of a 13-year-old boy Thursday night, who is accused of breaking into multiple homes.

Police are asking residents to be wary as multiple invasions have been reported since late December in which the suspect targeted young girls.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office says they have a 13-year-old suspect in custody related to the string of home invasion incidents involving young girls.

Bouchard said the suspect was armed with a knife in at least three incidents. He added that the parent has been cooperative.
