2017年3月31日 · The dory in general and a few specific types in particular, have an earned seaworthiness reputation. Unfortunately, most don't take this in context and it's blown way out of proportion. A dory can be seaworthy, but only if heavily laden down with a load of fish, skippered appropriately and manned by a seriously skilled crew.

2006年11月26日 · You know Guillermo, it is the sea that informs about the seaworthiness of a boat, not the ratios or your calculations. This boat has proven its seaworthiness in the most demanding sea conditions, and it is obviously a very seaworthy boat. I think you should adapt your numbers and ratios to the reality and not the reality to your numbers and ratios.

2013年8月22日 · I have been reading C A Marchaj "Seaworthiness the forgoten factor" but find it difficult to apply to a narrow design type when differentiating between one hull or another. For example is the above design too narrow (opposed to the eric design or typical Collin archer type for example)? does it lack reserve bouyancy aft for a double ended design?

2006年11月27日 · Re seaworthiness I expect a vessel and crew to weather a gale with no damage or injuries. Up to storm force may cause damage but shouldnt prevent the vessel from making port unassisted, unless the crew has a medical emergency. Conditions exceeding storm force I think you get what youre given.
