Just past the leading edge of the engine grill the tail starts a gradual incline diverging from the body countour until the end of the engine grill where the line once again turns into the tail. Porsche used up old stock, and they probably had plenty of license light cutout type engine lid frames to use up after Aug. 73. I have an early factory whale tail with twin grills that has the license light cutouts.
