The Istituto Niels Stensen was founded in 1964 in Florence, Italy. Administered by the Jesuit Order, it is dedicated to his memory. On 11 January 2012, Steensen was commemorated with a Google doodle as the founder of geology.

The parotid duct or Stensen duct is a salivary duct. It is the route that saliva takes from the major salivary gland, the parotid gland, into the mouth. [1] It opens into the mouth opposite the second upper molar tooth.
